I am getting rather worried at the lack of evidence of progress here.. you should be doing and recording progress in primary research by now. I still think you need to look at a recent tv or film representation and account for differences in representation. If you are still stuck for texts, try Brat Camp, Boys and Girls Alone (but focus on the representation by the text, not by the media response to the programme, or Spellbound (US film about spelling bee contest in US), Mad Hot Ballroom (US film about ballroom contest).
